Plans are underway for a Fly-Fishing School in affiliation with Penn National Communities along PA 997.  The first class will be 26 June 2010.  This school will be for kids between the ages of 8 and 15.  We are also planning a full functioning fly shoppe.  Stay tuned sports fans, we are growing and the sky is the limit.  Please see Antietam Creek Outfitters, for future details.

Custom-Tied is opening a Fly-Fishing School for adults this summer.  The dates are as follows:

July 16-19, August 6-8, September 10-12, and October 15-17.  The tuition is $450.00 per person.  Book your stay at the Holliday Inn Express Chambersburg and you will receive a discounted room rate for doing business with us.  They will give you a hearty Breakfast both Saturday and Sunday morning.  Please book the school through me and the hotel stay with the hotel directly, this will avoid the possibility of confusion or other issues.

Friday Evening Fly-Tying 6pm-9pm  This will be conducted at the Holliday Inn Express in the lounge area. You will receive a kit of tools and materials which you will take home with you. You may choose not to participate in the Fly-Tying portion if you desire.

Saturday Fly Fishing instruction 10pm-4pm (lunch provided)  This will be conducted at a pond where you will learn the basics of fly casting, knots and building leaders, entomology, and bug selection.

Sunday 9am-3pm Stream Trip (lunch provided) This is where you will put it all into practice as you learn how to read the creek and figure out where the big ones are hiding out.

We are pleased to announce that our affiliation with Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve is paying off in huge dividends.  There will be a fly-fishing clinic on a quarterly basis at the Preserve with the next clinic set for 14 August.  The next after that is 6 November.  We will be doing a tying clinic in January, please see the Strawberry Hill website for all of the details.
